This document outlines the roles and responsibilities of the RCPCH Lead for this work. The Project To design, deliver and evaluate learning resources suitable for multidisciplinary audiences related to paediatric vaccines and immunisation, to include face to face and online programmes. Background The RCPCH has recently secured an educational grant from Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Limited to support the educational training of healthcare professionals in their knowledge, skills and expertise in relation to paediatric vaccines and immunisations. The resources to been designed, delivered and evaluated include: How to manage: Vaccines and Immunisations Evening of Evidence: Vaccines and Immunisations Paediatrics Today: Vaccines and Immunisations Job Description – RCPCH Lead As the RCPCH Lead you will be responsible to the project executive having overall responsibility for the delivery of high-quality educational resources, related to paediatric vaccinations and immunisations. You will be responsible for setting the learning objectives, creating a learner pathway and designing an evaluation methodology for the three resources. You will ensure that suitable learning activities/materials are produced to create an engaging resource. You will need to be experienced in medical education and learning technology, creative, enthusiastic and have sufficient time to commit to its delivery. Support will be provided by the RCPCH Officer for Education Programme Development and the RCPCH Education Provision team. In addition, you will have responsibility for the review and quality assurance of the educational resources and if necessary will facilitate their peer review. You will be instrumentally involved in determining learning objectives and outcomes, and will work closely with subject matter experts to deliver content to match these requirements. Prime responsibilities 1. To develop the learning objectives, learner pathway and evaluation methodology for the online and face to face educational resources. 2. To lead the recruitment of a team of subject matter experts to contribute to the resource development. 3. To liaise with the appropriate subject matter experts and RCPCH Project Manager to ensure the content is educationally and clinically robust. 4. To participate in meetings that benefits the project, as required. 5. To liaise with subject matter experts to facilitate peer review of the content for accuracy, relevance and quality assurance. 1 Created: January 2015 6. To ensure that agreed timescales are met and that the project team are kept informed of any problems that might delay delivery of content so that additional support can be provided. 7. To approve and sign-off educational resources for testing and release. 8. To identify and share good practice in learning. Skills and experience required 1. Significant knowledge and experience of public health, health promotion and/or paediatric vaccinations and immunisations. 2. Commitment to design, delivery and evaluation of educational resources 3. Ability to ensure resources are delivered within an agreed timescale 4. Experience in online learning environments / e-learning / learning technology and face to face course. Place of Work The majority of the work will be carried out electronically but there will be regular project meetings (face-to-face and/or teleconference) and at least one workshop at the RCPCH London office. Regular meetings/discussion with Content Authors/Editors should also take place. Travelling expenses will be covered in-line with RCPCH guidelines. Hours of Work We anticipate this work to begin in mid-February 2014 and we anticipate that between 2/3 PAs (1-1.5 days) a month will be required by the RCPCH Lead. The development of the learning objectives, learner pathway, design of products and associated work will be completed over a period of months including quality assurance. Regular meetings/discussion with the Project Manager and subject matter experts (SMEs) will also be expected throughout the project. These activities will be planned with the RCPCH Project Manager. Remuneration and Expenses Reasonable expenses relating to travel and subsistence for meetings will be reimbursed in accordance with RCPCH guidelines.
