After the Louisiana territory becomes Spanish, Spain sends governor Ulloa to the colonies to lead it. Governor Ulloa turns out to be a weak leader and the colonists living in Louisiana kick him out during the Creole Revolution. The King of Spain replaces governor Ulloa with a new governor named Governor O’Reilly. O’Reilly is an extremely harsh ruler who severely punishes the people responsible for the Creole Revolution. Even though he is strict, governor O’Reilly makes a lot of positive changes to Spanish Louisiana (Code Noir and Cabildo). After O’Reilly, Galvez becomes the governor of Louisiana and begins secretly supporting the colonies in their fight against Britain. After secret support, Spain becomes an official ally of the American colonists against Britain, along with France as the other ally. The French and Indian War ends. After the French and Indian War, Britain gains control of all land east of the Mississippi. The King announces the Proclamation of 1763, which does not allow colonists to settle past the Appalachian Mountains. In addition to the Proclamation, Britain finds itself in heavy war debt, and starts to pass taxes on the colonists to raise revenue. Britain begins taxation by passing the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and Townshend Acts, making the colonists extremely mad. In protest of the taxes and mercantilism, the Sons of Liberty dress up as Native Americans and throw tea in the Boston Harbor. After being offended by the Tea Party, Britain passes the Intolerable Acts, punishing the colonists. After the passage of the intolerable acts and the Boston massacre, colonists begin stockpiling weapons. British soldiers ride to Lexington and Concord to confiscate the weapons and get involved in a battle with colonists. Colonists meet at the Continental Congress and decide to raise an army and later to Declare their Independence.
