What to Wear and Other Information?
Where are we staying:
Holiday Inn Express- Downtown
1111 West Lancaster Ave
Ft. Worth, TX
Cost: $175 total due by 5/17
Ride to State Convention:
Jeans and a Katy FFA or Katy High School t-shirt.
General Session:
We will wear complete official dress for most of the trip. This includes Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Make sure to pack extra socks/pantyhose, an extra
clean white shirt or two, and comfortable black dress shoes. We can end up walking
quite a bit.
Girls: make sure your skirts are knee length, not too tight, and slit cannot be higher than
2” above the knee. Toms (even black sparkly ones) DO NOT count as dress shoes. Must
be closed toe. Black flats will be fine.
Boys: Must wear black dress slacks and black dress shoes (boots and jeans do not count
at the State Convention). Hair should be cut off collar and ears.
Water Park:
Girls can wear a one piece bathing suit which covers them up appropriately. It should
not be missing large chunks on the sides or in the front. It should not be low cut on
top. If a girl wants to wear a bikini, they must wear a large t-shirt over it the whole
time. This t-shirt should be dark colored so it does not become sheer when it gets
wet.
Boys can wear normal swim shorts (no speedos)
Don’t forget sandals, swim towel, and sunscreen! 
Concert and Fun Night:
School appropriate clothing.
No leggings, yoga pants, palazzo pants, or tights can be worn as pants.
From Texas FFA Convention Dress Code for these events:
“Attire may not contain indecent or improper messages (alcohol, tobacco, sexual
references, etc.). Males must wear shirts with sleeves. No low-cut shirts or tops,
bare midriffs, strapless or think-strapped shirts are allowed. Shirts must cover
the entire stomach, shoulders, chest and back must be covered. Sleeves must be
at least two inches in width (about 3 fingers). Shorts, dresses and skirts must be
no higher than fingertip length when hands are at side and no saggy pants are
allowed.”
The Katy FFA prides itself on being dressed appropriately at all functions. We do not tolerate
immodest or inappropriate clothing or incomplete official dress. Ladies, if you aren’t sure,
don’t pack it or ask one of the ag teachers 
