College of Arts and Letters Transfer Student Advising Checklist Processes to be aware of when working with advising departments: Equivalencies- These are often already reflected in the Transfer Credit Report that is provided to you by Admissions. In some cases, the advising department may work with you to request this from a department chair. Substitutions-the advising department may request from a department chair for a course from a different institution to count towards an NAU course. You may be asked to provide additional documentation for this process, such as a syllabus or a course description.
