Apologies: Judy Bralee, Heather Steer Chairman: Su’ Thompson Minutes: Sue Collier ACTION 1 Su welcomed everyone to the AGM and gave a review of the past 12 months. Guest speakers from local charities have been welcomed to our meetings, Angela Whitehead explained about Crossroads. Phil Clarke, Chairman of the local Nature Reserve, spoke about initiatives to improve healthy living through the pursuit of outside activities. Lucy Bird, from Somersham Timebank, described how this was coordinated. The PPG received an invitation to the meeting of the Health and Well Being Committee, which Graham attended. NAPP. It is the intention of the PPG to make contact with other PPG’s in our area. Fundraising. There have been 2 events – the Tabletop Sale in the Victory Hall and a stand at the Somersham Carnival, both promotional opportunities, rather than money raising activities. The PPG Brochure has been updated. Health Promotion Event on Diabetes which took place Thursday 30th January, proved very successful. Our thanks go to Dr Mills, Nurse Kathryn and Peter Hutchinson. 2 Nomination and Election of Group Officers. Chair: Su Thompson. Nominated by Su Thompson Seconded by Peter Hutchinson 3 Appointment of Auditor: John Cullin was appointed as official auditor for the year end April 2014. Treasurer’s Report: Graham reported that we had received donations amounting to £1.26 at the Health Event on Diabetes. Total amount in funds is now £93.72 4 The PPG does not propose to make any changes to the constitution at this time. 5 Plans for 2014: To join up with other PPG groups. To promote another Health Event. 6 Surgery news: Leanne discussed the results of the recent survey “Getting the Best out of the NHS on a Budget” Various ideas were suggested from the survey for a future promotional event, such as looking at First Aid in the home and how to spot a heart attack or stroke. Action plan from the survey: How to best let patients know about any changes/switches made in their medication. Dr Lund to be invited to talk about her experiences in Tanzania on Tropical Medicines with the PPG and the staff of the surgery maybe in the format of a cheese and wine evening? Leanne reported that the PPG section of the Practice website needs updating. Dr Johnson is back to work at the Surgery on a Tuesdays. Dr Heinz is no longer working at the surgery. A new nurse, Claire, has joined the team. Linda, the new secretary has settled in well in both her roles as secretary and on reception. Waiting room is being redecorated. 7 Meeting closed at 8.30pm.
