Believe in the Good New! (Psalm 25) The waters of Baptism make us part of the new covenant in Christ. But the bishops’ pastoral letter on stewardship reminds us that “there is a fundamental obligation arising from the sacrament of baptism . . . that people place their gifts, their resources – their selves – at God’s service in and through the Church.” Christian stewardship provides a spirituality that you can take home from church, exercise at work, and express through personal involvement in the community and the Church. We have drawn spiritual and academic life from our parish and Catholic schools. What return will we make of these gifts? As the good steward of the Gospel, shall we give to God sufficient return for our gifts? Consider a life-culminating gift through your Will.
