His complete name was „Karl
Friedrich Michael Benz“, he was
born on 25 November 1844 in
Mühlberg (Karlsruhe) and died
on 4 April 1929 in Ladenburg.
People know him as an engineer
and inventor.
In 1853 he went to the
Karlsruher Lyzeum and passed
his school leaving exam in 1860.
He married Bertha Ringer in
1872. They had 5 children.

Mercedes-Benz is a German
brand of the Daimler Company.
The brand was created in 1926
by the merging of DaimlerMotoren-Gesellschaft by Gottlieb
Daimler and Benz & Cie by Carl
Benz.
His invention
In 1885 Carl Benz made one of the
biggest inventions in the world, the
petrolcar.
