Regional Project Director
Salary: Up to $98,718.78 annually (plus Isolation Allowance of $32.89 bi-weekly for Smithers)
3 positions available: Preference is for the positions to be located in Prince George (1), Kamloops
(1) , Smithers (1); however, it may be possible for the successful candidates to work out of other locations
(eg. Victoria, Vancouver)

Mining is one of British Columbia’s key economic sectors. The 2014 production value of mining in BC was
nearly $7 billion and over 30,000 people around the province are employed in mineral exploration, mining
and related sectors. The development of this economic sector is a government priority, and plays a
significant role in BC’s Jobs Plan.
As Project Director you will lead and direct the development, implementation and evaluation of major mine
projects in a designated region in British Columbia, which involves overseeing all aspects of major mine
permitting (including sub-projects and/or multiple delivery components). This will involve working closely
with Project Directors from the Environmental Assessment Office, right through to final permitting for
construction and operation. Projects are taken from original concept through final completion to ensure that
the environmental assessments and permitting are conducted in a timely manner and meet established
deadlines.

in the natural resource sector or mining and have a strong understanding of the aboriginal context in British

In order for applicants to be considered for this position, their resume must clearly demonstrate
that they have the following education and experience:
Degree in resource management related field (e.g., Forestry, Geography, or Natural Resource Management),
business administration, public administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered.
Extensive experience in the mining sector.
Experience in permitting a major development project.
Must have accredited Project Management Professional Designation or be willing to complete within 1 year of
hiring.
Extensive experience at a senior level leading major projects of large scale and complexity that have
multiple project delivery components.
