To All Seventh-Grade Science and Math Teachers:
SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE!
Nominate your bright & promising 7th grade girls to attend Tech Trek
an exciting, week-long residential, hands-on science,
technology and math camp, in summer 2015. The
camp is designed to create interest, excitement, and
confidence in young women.
A nominated 7th grade girl must:
Be excited by math or science
Be motivated to learn
Have active listening skills
Have at least a “B” average (is not necessarily the top student)
Have limited access to programs such as these
Be likely to benefit from this experience


Academically, the student should:
Be interested in learning & experiencing new things, especially math or science
Be able to follow directions
Show persistence in task completion
Participate in class discussions

Work well in group situations & be willing to help other students

Personally, the student should:
Eastern Washington University
Make positive choices for herself, inside & outside of class
July 26-August 1, 2015
Demonstrate responsibility, honesty, and accountability
Exhibit self-control and have no serious discipline issues
Show respect for & cooperate with teachers & students
Have a blossoming awareness of self-potential
Be willing to try new & challenging tasks
(Strongly Suggested) Attend a Title II school or be eligible for free/reduced fee school lunch
program
Scholarships are available for a limited number of girls. Nominated students will be requested to
complete an application and write an essay. AAUW members may select several candidates `for
interviews and campers will be chosen from that group. Your cooperation in the nomination process is
appreciated and you will be notified of the final selection.

Maximum number of per school is five (5). If multiple teachers at a school participate in the nomination
