Stage 2 reforms – Training Resources

Upcoming PGPA Act Community of Practice (CoP) workshops

Canberra – Monday 17 November

This workshop will demonstrate and discuss the new resource management training resources developed to assist entities to operate more effectively under the PGPA Act.

The new training resources include:

 updated Resource Management and Budget (RMB) Training Program

 Commonwealth Resource Management (CRM) eLearning modules 1 to 4

 Introduction to Risk Management eLearning module

 Fraud Awareness eLearning Training Package (AGD).

The workshop will be from 9.30-11.30am at Finance’s John Gorton Building in Parkes.

Please register through Eventbrite by Friday 14 November 2014.

Melbourne – Monday 1 December

Sydney – Tuesday 2 December

These workshops will focus on opportunities and issues arising from stage 2 of the PMRA.

In particular the workshops will discuss the new training resources and provide entities and officials with the opportunity to discuss issues and share ideas.

The Melbourne workshop will be from 2-4pm Monday 1 December at the Bureau of

Meteorology, 700 Collins Street, Docklands. Please register through Eventbrite .

The Sydney workshop will be from 10-12pm Tuesday 2 December at the ABC,

700 Harris St Ultimo. Please register through Eventbrite .

Updated RMB Training Program slides and guides available for consultation

To finalise the update of the RMB Training Program, draft slides and participant guides are available for comment on the PMRA Govdex Community

CRM eLearning modules – for consultation

The 4 CRM eLearning modules that will be available from Monday 17 November are:

1.

Introduction to the PGPA Act

2.

Duties of officials

3.

Officials’ responsibilities to manage public resources

4.

Using relevant money

The modules will initially be available for officials to use on the Finance website . Entities with learning management systems will be able to download SCORM compliant versions of the modules. When the APS LearnHub is launched the modules will also be available there.

Introduction to Risk in the Commonwealth eLearning course

Introduction to Risk in the Commonwealth is the first eLearning course that Comcover has developed. The course will increase awareness of risk across the Commonwealth Public

Sector and encourage better practice in public sector risk management. It will provide participants with an overview of the importance of good risk management in the

Commonwealth, and also introduce the new Commonwealth Risk Management Policy and how the policy is designed to encourage better practice risk management among

Commonwealth entities.

Officials can access this course now through Comcover’s online learning management system, the Comcover Learning Centre . All officials working in General Government Sector entities have free access to the Learning Centre and can self-register to access the training.

New Government Fraud Awareness eLearning Training Package

To assist entities comply with the PGPA Act and the fraud rule in section 10 of the PGPA

Rule, the Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) has developed a whole of government fraud awareness eLearning module, which is available for free through the Commonwealth Fraud

Control GovDex Community .

The Fraud Training Package will assist officials in Commonwealth entity to understand their responsibilities and obligations regarding the prevention, detection, response to, and reporting of fraud. The training package is ready to be uploaded onto Departmental intranets and eLearning systems, but can also be edited to add in specific information relevant to an individual entity.
