Directions for the Ancient India Wheel Project How to get the Wheel Ready: 1. Trace a large circle on a piece of tag board (I like to use the 12x18 size) 2. Divide circle into 6 equal sections, front and back 3. Label each section: a. Geography b. Ancient History c. Hinduism d. Buddhism e. Ancient Achievements f. India Today (or if you choose: Ancient Daily Life) 4. Repeat on the back. Be sure the same labels are the same on the other side. 5. Label/Write on the outer part of the circle, “Side 1” and the other side, “Side 2” 6. DON’T CUT OUT CIRCLE UNTIL COMPLETELY FINISHED WITH NOTES AND DRAWINGS What to Do: You will be writing in notes about the sections labeled. Use the book for information first. If more information is needed, use other resources. The front side is where you start. You continue onto the back, until you run out of room. Be sure your writing font size is appropriate: not too small, not too large. 1. Start with the note taking. You may use a pen, but if you make a mistake, you will need to White-Out. The problem with this is that you will not be able to really color over the White-Out. 2. Finish all notes for all sections 3. Insert drawings/illustrations over your notes- Side 1. Be sure to use appropriate media (colored pencils, light crayons, fine-tip markers for outlining). The illustrations on Side 1 have appropriate illustrations about the notes. Illustrations/Drawings on Side 2 will be different. Where to find the information: a. Geography- the first part of Lesson 1 b. Ancient History- the second part of Lesson 1, but save room for more information in Lesson 4 c. Hinduism- Lesson 2 d. Buddhism- Lesson 3 e. Ancient Achievements- Lesson 5 f. India Today- you need to use an outside resource. A good one is an Almanac (or if you choose: Ancient Daily Life- you will need to use another outside resource.)
