WASHINGTON, D.C., October 30, 2015 – Fight For Children, a non-profit that has improved the health
and education of at-risk children in D.C. and Baltimore for more than 25 years, announced an exciting
lineup for the 26th annual Fight Night presented by Under Armour fundraiser. One of the most storied
charity events of the year, the star-studded affair on Thursday, November 5 at the Washington Hilton will
bring together nearly 2,000 heavyweights of business, government, philanthropy, sports, and
entertainment for a memorable evening of fundraising, networking, boxing, and musical performances.
With Under Armour in the ring again this year, Fight For Children aims to raise $5 million at
Fight Night to invest in early childhood education in the Mid-Atlantic area. Since the inaugural event in
1990, Fight Night has become one of the premiere events of the year in D.C. and, through the generosity
of its supporters and contributors, has raised more than $50 million. For the third consecutive year, the
event will mark another record-setting milestone, raising critical funds for local children’s education and
healthcare services.
As part of its new mission, Fight For Children will invest all revenue from Fight Night into early
childhood education with a goal to make early childhood education in D.C. the best in the nation. Fight
For Children Chairman and Vice Chairman, Monumental Sports & Entertainment Raul Fernandez, said,
“Through the generosity of our partners, including Kevin Plank and Under Armour, Fight For Children is
able to support programs like Joe’s Champs, which improves the quality of early childhood teachers and
school leaders in the region’s highest need neighborhoods.”
“Under Armour is so proud to support this great event and more importantly, this amazing cause for
the last three years,” said Stacey Ullrich, Under Armour Director of Global Philanthropy. “Each year we
continue to raise the bar at Fight Night and look forward to another epic evening to benefit Fight for
Children, which will provide youth new opportunities so that they are able to excel and grow into the next
generation of great leaders.”
