Welcome! Thanks for your interest in our ‘Generations of Faith’ program!
Are you familiar with ‘Generations of Faith’ at St. Joseph’s?
If not, WHY not?
Come join the many singles, couples, seniors, families and children who gather
together once a month (September through April) for:
·
·
·
·
a simple, shared meal
a prayer service (including live music) to introduce us to the theme for the day
presentations, discussion, activities and guest speakers for students AND adults
sharing what we’ve experienced, then closing in prayer
Together as a parish family, through ‘Generations of Faith’, we understand more about our Catholic faith, how to put it
into action, and LIVE it in our daily lives.
Our 2014-2015 year - themed “The Sacraments” - begins in September. We will begin the year exploring “Baptism”,
and the beginning of our Catholic Christian lives. (Bring a family baptism photo! We’ll use it in a display celebrating our
initiation into God’s family).
The same session is offered twice each month:
SATURDAY from 9:30AM-NOON,
or
NEW THIS YEAR: TIME CHANGE!
OUR SUNDAY SESSION WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER THE 10:30AM MASS.
(attend Mass, then relax for a meal in the Parish Hall.
Our program follows the meal, concluding by approximately 1:30pm).
Choose which day best fits your schedule!
Our program is designed for ALL ages at ALL stages in life……singles, couples, seniors, families and children. ALL are
invited! (If your family includes children, see below.**)
Registration forms and a schedule of this year’s dates & themes are available on our ‘G.O.F.’ webpage, and at the
church. Of course, you may also contact the rectory with any questions.
Come…..take part in fellowship and faith sharing with St. Joseph’s parish community. We look forward to exploring “The
Sacraments”, and together appreciating they are not just one-time events, but are given to us to be LIVED daily. We
look forward to sharing the sessions together!
**If your family includes children entering the first grade, it’s time to get started! ‘Generations of Faith’ IS our religious
education program. All children in first grade or older are expected to attend with their family. (Sessions are also offered
for younger children in Pre-K and Kindergarten. Child care is available on Sundays only for children ages 3 and under).
For students anticipating First Reconciliation (Grade 2), First Communion (Grade 3), or Confirmation (Grade 11),
additional sacrament preparation sessions are scheduled after the Christmas season. We also have special events and
sessions for Grade 10 students in the fall. Families of children intending to receive sacraments must be enrolled in
‘Generations of Faith’, and regularly attending the sessions and weekly Mass.
