Signature Date Personal Profile Instructions I suggest that you type your name and major at the top of your personal profile. Do not create a formal greeting or a title. Choose your words carefully. Your prospective cooperating teacher will form her/his first impression of you from reading your profile. Do not try to be erudite. Write in a voice that’s natural for you. Highlight your interests in the subject matter you will teach. Mention some of your favorite courses, interests, experiences. You should include descriptions of specific contributions you have made as a pre-service educator. Anecdotes are always effective. Lists of accomplishments are impersonal, and often ineffective. Share personal experiences that will help the prospective cooperating teacher get a sense of who you are. These experiences, however, should illustrate your commitment to teaching, learning, and young people. One or two pages will be sufficient. Word process. Spell and grammar check. Have someone proofread your work before you hand it in. Your paper must be free of errors. I will not send your profile to prospective cooperating teachers if it contains errors. You will receive an e-mail from me instructing you to correct errors and reprint copies for your file so be certain to save a copy on your computer. Four copies are required.
