Bancroft Names Dr. Kurt P. Micelias its new physician leader.

HADDONFIELD, N.J., ( January XX, 2014) – Bancroft, a leading regional nonprofit service provider for children and adults with autism, varied intellectual or developmental disabilities, and adults in need of neurological rehabilitation, today announced the appointment of Kurt P.

Miceli, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.P., F.A.P.A.

as Senior Vice President and Medical Director.

"Having had the privilege of working with Dr. Miceli in the past, I am thrilled that he is joining our team as the new physician leader. Not only is Dr. Miceli one of the finest physicians I know, he is also a natural leader and a strategic thinker,” said Charles McLister, Bancroft Chief

Operating Officer. “Bancroft has always set the standard for the treatment of developmental disabilities, neurological disorders, and autism disorders. But most recently, the organization has positioned itself to provide broader and more comprehensive care for the persons we serve, including medical services such as psychiatry, neurology, primary care, and clinical nursing. Kurt is precisely the right person to lead us in this direction as we transform our organization and redefine how services are provided to persons with these issues."

Dr. Miceli is board-certified in both psychiatry and internal medicine. He comes to Bancroft from

Crozer-Chester Medical Center where he served as Medical Director for Crisis Services, as well as the Medical Director of Carson Valley Children’s Aid. Previously, Dr. Miceli worked at

Fairmount Behavioral Health System, where he served as President of the Medical Staff, a Unit

Medical Director, and a consultant psychiatrist to Chestnut Hill Hospital. He has also worked as a Civilian Psychiatrist at the United States Army Medical Command and as a Chief Resident and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry / Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of

Virginia Medical Center.

Dr. Miceli received his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine and his B.S. in Biology and B.A. in Economics from Villanova University. Dr. Miceli is also a graduate of the

Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia where he received his M.B.A.

Dr. Miceli co-authored a book entitled, Psychiatric Medicine (2007). Since 2011 he has served on the Board of Directors for the Philadelphia County Medical Society where he has chaired the

Young Physician Section. He has been an active voice for medicine in the Pennsylvania

Medical Society’s House of Delegates. He also enjoys teaching an M.B.A. class on Health Care

Economics at Villanova University.
