Summary of Role:
The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting IT Users in solving
problems relating to software applications, development of application
interfaces and working with the IT Team to create workable IT services.
Scope:
The IT Systems Analyst reports to the Applications Developer and
manages IT systems, databases, application interfaces. Providing these
services in an effective and efficient manner to ensure maximum access
to information and systems. Due to the nature of the IT team, it will be
necessary for this role to also provide support for other IT functions.
Key Responsibilities:














Supports and services as a technical expert for LSTM in-house developed applications
in all stages of development testing and productions
Provides upper level support to users having difficulties with applications
Installs, implements, administers, supports and monitors LSTM applications
Monitors designated applications and takes corrective action to prevent or minimise
system down time
Collaborates on special projects, may track and allocate software licences
Creates user documentation and may train personnel on new application software
Troubleshoots to resolve system related problems
Coordinates with LSTM’s Application Developer regarding user support and problem
resolution
Organises, controls and evaluates the operations of information systems and data
processing
Meets with colleagues across LSTM to discuss system requirements, specifications,
costs and timelines
Liaises with information systems personnel and contractors to design, develop,
implement, operate and administer computer and telecommunications software,
databases and information systems
Maintain and operate the Systems Development lifecycle
Data storage management including SharePoint online
Coding with PowerShell

Administration of Office 365
Responding to change:









Contribute towards medium and long term coordinated planning based on LSTM’s
objectives to keep LSTM up to date with developments in ICT
Assist with the implementation of major developments of the IT service
Develop communication flows to ensure that customers of IT services are continually
updated with information relating to IT developments affecting their work area
Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
Advise colleagues on potential uses of existing and new applications
Provide individual training and support on request
Provide recommendations about accessing information and support
Maintain current and accurate inventory of data, software and resources
Advise the IT Management Team of issues that are affecting IT Services or IT users
