WHAT CAN I DO TO HELP? As you can see by the many activities The Friends are involved with in support of the library and staff, we could always use an extra pair of hands to help us implement these programs. If you would like to help and have the time, here’s how we could use your talents and interests: __ Stock The Friends Used Books area __ Help with book sales __ Be part of the special programs and events sponsored by The Friends __ Share your ideas for new programs, fund raisers, etc. with us __ Suggest ways in which we can improve to better serve the library and utilize our resources more effectively HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M MAKING A DIFFERENCE? We all want to feel that the work that we do is important and in some small way contributes to the overall good of the community in which we live and work. Without the volunteer efforts of The Friends, the many programs that we sponsor would not be held or able to continue. Your efforts directly impact the ability for children, teens, and adults to participate and learn from the programs that the library offers. This learning, in many cases, is shared with others thus multiplying its reach and impact. So you see, you have an opportunity to impact many, whether from a single event or series. You do, indeed, make a difference! We support the library by raising funds through various projects and programs throughout the year to insure that programs that have either been unfunded or at risk of being underfunded have the resources necessary for development and implementation. In addition, as we look towards the future, we want to offer programs that keep pace with technology, providing a platform for both personal and professional growth. Our meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month. We begin with a social time from 5PM to 5:30 PM. The meetings begin promptly at 5:30 PM and end at 6:30 PM. During the meetings we plan projects, events, and activities to raise extra funds for our library WHAT HAVE WE DONE LATELY?
