The School of Arts and Sciences requires instructors who wish to develop or teach a course in online, hybrid or accelerated format to have successfully completed the corresponding training course through CETL, or show evidence of equivalent training elsewhere via the CETL Alternative Format Prior Learning/Experience Assessment. Please be aware that the Dean of Arts and Sciences has final authority to approve payment for proposals requesting funding. Payment will generally not be approved until after the proposed course has been taught for the first time and a completed course portfolio has been submitted. If the proposal is for a course in an alternative format (online, hybrid, or accelerated), the contents of the portfolio should be tailored to this format.
