There are three experiments done by guessing the length and volume of lines or boxes, guessing the amount of water. Three results of experiments are different from the hypothesis. The first test has nothing to do with gender with regards to estimating size. On the other hand, at the other two tests, males are more exact than females in estimating size. Among all results, most females are less exact about the different of estimating size among gender. 1.0 Introduction The purpose of this report is to investigate different abilities in estimating size among gender. According to online dictionary, estimating size is to calculate measurement approximately. To do test, subjects composed of two parts of males and females. They consist of ten people of each part. Experiments will enforce three parts in terms of people guessing the probable size of the test materials. The hypothesis is that females are more exact than males about estimating size. 2.0 Methodology The first test is done by using lines and boxes. After drawing two lines which is another size, twenty people guess these two lengths and the difference of two lines lengths. Next experiment is done using wrist size. After measuring wrist circumference through tapeline, twenty subjects see distance of wrist which is made by paper and real wrist because most people think these two things are different. Another experiment is to use water into a bottle. Subjects guess the amount ofwater in a bottle. After finishing each experiment, the data of each test is recorded . 3.0 Results Among three parts of the experiment, each result comes to the different thing. Some females and males guessed the line length, which is 10 cm correctly and a few were not able to guess an accurate length. The average of this test is the almost same number which is 9.5 between females and males. On the other hand, females and males tend to have a little difference at the second experiment. Males guess the wrist circumference to be14 or 15 cm . This is very close to the correct length, but females usually exceeded the correct length by guessing 20 cm or a lower measurement of 6 cm. Males are just a little more exact than females in this test. The result of the final test is similar to second one . However, the final test shows definite difference in guessing the amount of water. While most males guessed the amount of water, which is 500 ml, exactly, just one 12 07 2012 1 GAC013 AE#1 female Park Saeron Class B got the .estimation right. 4.0 Discussion The hypothesis is that females are more exact than males at estimating size. However, the results of three experiments are definitely different from the hypothesis. One reasonis that the first test shows that estimating size has nothing to do with gender. Twenty subjects looked at two lines line and guessed the correct length. Some of the females got the right length but some of them cannot guess the correct answer. This trend comes out similar to the males. estimating ability is not relative with gender. It is just the difference first experiment does not have a bar of The first test tells that in individuals. Among gender, only one female guessed the correct the amount of water. However, most females guess exact the amount of water into a bottle. After finishing the second and last experiments, the results of these two tests tell that males are predominant when it comes to estimating abilities. 5.0 Conclusion This report is based on experiments proving different abilities in males and females size. Through the three tests in which subjects the amount of water, results at estimating guessed the line length, wrist circumference, and came out. Three tests have a tendency to be different from the hypothesis. The first test shows that males and females are no matter the different abilities of estimating size. On the other hand, the rest among gender. Males tend to tend to show different abilities at estimating size be a little more exact than females at the second test. Furthermore, there is definite difference in estimating size among gender at the final experiment. Males are more exact at estimating size than females.
