Homecoming Student Programming Committee
Help coordinate the SPU 2014 Homecoming!
Purpose:
To plan thoughtful programs and events that will foster school pride and spirit among the student body
and will incorporate students into the Homecoming celebration.
The committee will be comprised of:
 1-2 students from each class- freshmen, sophomore, junior, senior
 VCPA
 Campus Program Coordinator
Student members will apply for the committee by filling out a brief application. Applications will be
available November 4th and are due November 15th, 2014. Applicants will be interviewed the final week
of October and selected by the VCPA and Campus Program Coordinator.
Responsibilities of the committee include:
 Homecoming People of promise selecting, voting, and presenting
 Homecoming Alumni vs. Student Ultimate Frisbee game
 Homecoming Chapel Rehearsal
 Homecoming Chapel
 Homecoming Dance
 Additional Programming to increase student involvement
Job Description:
Members of the Homecoming Student Programming Committee will meet on a weekly basis for
brainstorming and planning. Each member will chair or oversee a different homecoming event.
Members are expected to come to these meetings with creative ideas. Once events have been
developed and scheduled by the committee as a whole, each member will be delegated various
responsibilities pertaining to the events. It is expected that each member collaborate with other
members as well as campus constituents to plan, schedule, implement, and attend all potential events.
Time Commitment:
 Homecoming will meet 1-2 times Fall quarter and weekly Winter quarter until homecoming
 2-3 hours/week carrying out specific delegations, responsibilities, communications in regards to
specific Homecoming events
 Homecoming Weekend- present for all events that are the direct responsibility of the
Homecoming Committee, including set-up and clean-up time. In addition, attendance at any
and/or all Homecoming events is required unless other specific responsibilities
