Participates in the development and implementation of strategies to achieve established enrollment goals. This position reports to the Director of Admissions at Great Bay Community College. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provide information and academic and career counseling to prospective and entering students regarding a wide range of topics including admissions procedures, course scheduling, registration, financial aid, placement testing, and academic program requirements, transfer options. Participate in the planning and implementation of a wide range of recruitment and admission events and activities including Open House, Express Admission, Partners in Education Breakfast, Camp College, Information Sessions, College Fairs, Campus and High School visits, and various relevant community sponsored programs. Maintain and interpret recruitment, admissions and demographic data in support of achieving stated goals and objectives. Assist in the development and modification of marketing and public relations material including broadcast, print and electronic messaging. Implement the admissions communication plan for new prospects and applicants to include BANNER letter generation, Constant Contact e-mail, and tele-counseling activities. Assist the Director with the processing of applications for students interested in our selective programs (Nursing, Vet Tech, Surg Tech, etc.). Develop and maintain relationships with external constituents and partners such as Adult Education Centers, guidance counselors, Running Start participants, transfer counselors, etc. Participate in Admissions and Enrollment Services departmental meetings and discussions, and in the design and execution of a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan. Assist in the development of the departmental budget. Serve on campus and system committees and teams as necessary. Attend conferences and workshops in order to promote professional development and keep abreast of best practices. Work with Academic Advising Staff to leverage and enhance/expand counseling services. Comply with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in business, education, counseling, student services/development, educational psychology, marketing, or related educational field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience. Experience: Three (3) years’ experience in sales, marketing, business, and/or education involving college admissions, recruiting, public speaking and presentations, individual interviewing and or providing program information to others. Licensure/Certification: Valid driver’s license. RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Considerable knowledge of counseling principles and techniques. Considerable knowledge of learning, behavior, and emotional patterns of young adults. Knowledge of personality, achievement, prognostic, and placement tests and the techniques involved in their use and interpretation. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques. Ability to maintain rapport with students, faculty and staff. Ability to communicate effectively and to prepare written reports. Ability to instruct students, faculty and staff concerning counseling roles and techniques, leadership roles, and human relations. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
