Today we are celebrating the 68th Independence Day On 15th of August 1947 the plan put forward by the last viceroy of British India, Lord Mountbatten known as Mountbatten plan was accepted by both the Congress and the Muslim league. Immediately, the enactment of India’s independent Act (1947), ended the British rule and India became an independent and sovereign state. Since then the Independence Day is celebrated throughout India on 15th August every year as a national holiday to honour the birth of world’s biggest democracy. Independence Day holds a significant place in every Indian citizen’s lives and people from every corner of India, irrespective of their colour, creed, caste or religion celebrate this day with complete zeal and vigour. This day is also celebrated to commemorate and to pay homage to all the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s struggle for freedom. ECE : Under the NPE, government had set objective "to create an eco— system for a globally competitive ESDM (Electronic System and Design and Manufacturing) sector in the country to achieve a turnover of about USD 400 billion by 2020 involving investment of about USD 100 billion and employment to around 28 million people at various levels." ICT : Indian ICT market to touch $320 billion by 2020 Solar manufacturing Industry will help create 50,000 direct new jobs and more than 1,25,000 indirect jobs over next 5 years. Aero Space : India is expected to emerge as the world’s third largest aviation market by 2020. 40 aircrafts would be manufactured in India. Textile : Investments on Textile & apparel would be $120 billion by 2024-25, creating 35 million additional jobs and exports rise from present $39 billion to $300 billion by 2024-25. Power & Energy : Installation of 20 GW Solar power capacity by 2022 and 100 GW by 2030. And installing 18 new Nuclear Reactor by 2025 apart from 5 already in progress (India is the third largest in the World in Nuclear Power and Fifth largest in Wind Power). Interestingly, 35% of Countries total power generation capacity is in Private Sector. Roads & Building / National Highways / Airports / Bridges / Dams and other infrastructure are being constructed in the country. Pharma Industry : The Indian pharmaceuticals market is potential to reach US$ 70 billion by 2020 from US$ 12.6 billion in 2009. The domestic pharma market is estimated to touch US$ 20 billion by 2015. The healthcare market in India to reach US$ 31.59 billion by 2020. Thus India would really become a lucrative destination for clinical trials for global giants. Bio-Tech : India is reorganized as a mega bio-diversity country and biotechnology offers opportunities to convert our biological resources into 2 economic wealth and employment opportunities. Innovative products and services that draw on renewable resources bring greater efficiency into industrial processes, check environmental degradation and deliver a more biobased economy. Biotechnology has the potential to overcome the challenge to ensure the livelihood security of 110 million farming families in our country. Petroleum & Natural Gas: India has a total reserve of 1201 million metric tonnes of crude oil and 1437 billion cubic metres of natural gas as on 01 April 2010. The total number of exploratory and development wells and metre age drilled in onshore and offshore areas during 2009-2010 timeframe was 428 and 1019 thousand metres respectively. Oil & Gas Exploration and production spend in the country has doubled from about US$ 2.5 billion in 2004–05 to about US$ 5 billion in 2007–08. Overall E&P spend is expected to be in the range of US$ 90–110 billion in the next 7–10 years. India is also rising as a potential refining hub because the capital costs are lowered by 25–50% here in comparison to other Asian countries. Mission of “Exploring Entrepreneurship Opportunities in Andhra Pradesh” a 2-day awareness and motivation seminars have been conducted with a “Grow your idea” contest, in Srikakulum, EG, Krishna and Guntur districts about 3000+ students have participated.
