Pharmacy Frequently Asked Questions
Q1.
How many condoms can we provide to our Chlamydia Screening and EHC patients?
A1.
Up to 8 condoms can be provided to each patient.
Q2.
Where can we order condoms?
A2.
The Freedoms Shop http://www.freedoms-shop.nhs.uk/
Q3.
Can I provide the EHC or Chlamydia Screening service if I do not currently have my
accreditation via the CPPE?
A3.
No, you need to ensure that you have undertaken all the correct training to carry out
this service. The current PGD for each service will also need to be signed and
returned to the Local Authority.
Q4.
I’m finding it difficult to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. I own
an independent Pharmacy and I do not have an employer to apply for the check on
my behalf. Is there an organisation to support me with this?
A4.
Yes, in exceptional circumstances, Trafford Council can act as an Umbrella Body to
support you to obtain your DBS check. We can send you an application form which
will need to be completed by the relevant Pharmacist and then checked by a Trafford
Council employee. There will be a £10 admin fee as well as the cost of the check
which is £44, a cheque should be made payable to Trafford Council totalling to £54.
Q5.
I don’t seem to be able to find this year’s invoicing documentation; can I use last
year’s templates?
A5.
No. If claims are completed on last year’s templates they will be returned to you for
completion on the correct templates. If you are unsure if you have the correct
templates or if you do not have access to the correct templates, please do contact us
for support.
Q6.
Our Needle Exchange hazardous waste bins are full, are we able to contact SRCL
directly to order more?
A6.
Authorisation must be given by Trafford Council before any additional hazardous
waste bins are supplied. If bins are ordered and supplied without Trafford Council
authorising the request; the cost of the additional bin may be charged to you.

Who do we send our claim forms and supporting documentation to?

Q11.
What is the Hub and what is required of me in relation to this?
A11.
The Early Intervention Health and Wellbeing Hub is being developed in co-production
with the residents of Trafford using a bottom-up approach to ensure that it addresses
the felt needs of the population. It is therefore impossible to define exactly what the
“hub” will include or how it will be delivered until this community consultation process
has been completed. Community provider organisations including GP practices are
also being consulted. The exact details of what the “hub” will offer and how it will
operate will be circulated well before the start of implementation in April 2015.
Due to the lack of information we are able to share with you at this time, as the Early
Intervention Health and Wellbeing Hub being is in its infancy, we would like to
withdraw any correspondence sent to you so far therefore no action in relation to the
Hub is required from Pharmacies.
