b. At TCJFS, child protective services are available to help children achieve safety,
well-being, and permanency. TCJFS recognizes that families play an important
role in ensuring their children’s safety and well-being. Families who know they
are in need of services to help keep their children safe can contact TCJFS for
information on what help is available. In addition, placement staff can provide
information and referral services for persons with questions about adoption, birth
parent search, and supportive services for adoptive families. Other services
include:

b. TCHS assists individuals and families in a faith-based environment to obtain
stability and permanent housing. Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County
opened its doors to the homeless in October, 2005. Over the last 7 years, the
shelter has been able to help over 1,600 people including more than 300 children
with housing, clothing, food, counseling, transportation and much more.
i. Residents in the community can volunteer and donate to the shelter.
ii. Referrals can be made, and if people are in need of help, they can call the
shelter and/or fill out an application form. The shelter also provides drug
and alcohol recovery programs ran by a licensed chemical dependency
counselor.
