Moved by Terry Henry, seconded by Steve Quin to accept. Dan discussed that YJO has never had a budget and provided an overview of a proposed budget. President’s Address by Colin The conference committee did a magnificent job for a great Dart conference. Much has been accomplished this past year including raising our profile, establishing a working relationship with Training and Development. We still need to work with CAMH on 4 Justice Collaboratives and we need to be involved. They will be discussed next week. Please provide the Board with items for the Workplan. Proposed By law changes The purpose of these proposed by law amendments was to presented by Colin update them, ensure our best practices. These were reviewed at the zone meetings. By laws amendments clarified membership approval, fees, meeting timelines, and Associate members. Election of Board Members from Thank you to Dick and Teresa for all your efforts. In Zone 1 the Zones (North)Kris woods was elected to the Board (2015), joining Lynn Kallies (2014) and Steve Quinn (2013) In Zone 2 (East), Diane Irwin was elected to the Board (2015), joining Gord (2013) and Lucia (2014) In Zone 3 (West), Mike Ellison White was re-elected to the Result/Action Carried Carried Motion by Sandy, seconded by Dick to approve the by law changes as proposed. Carried. 1 Zone Submissions to the Board/Work Plan Executive Coordinator report of accomplishments this year. YJO Website Board (2015), joining Sandy (2013) and Dan Wideman (2014). In Zone 4 (Central), Jim was re-elected to the Board (2015), joining Colin (2014) and Deb Riddle (2013). Zone 1 – No submissions but would like the Board to explore video link training do to distance. Steve and Lynn met with Contact North Tuesday. Zone 2 – Talked about training, interest in looking at new ways to develop “younger members” of YJO as Leaders. Zone 3 – Training, Partnerships in the private sector to raise our profile. See the Minutes. Zone 4 – Education and training on Bill C-10, focus of YJ Advisory Counsel. PR SUBCOMMITTEE - Had Brochures, Membership Applications and Key Messages handed out at COYO Conference - Arranged for Colin to be acknowledged as the new YJO President at the CMHO Conference Developed Key Messages In April Developed Brochure in June - -Launched Facebook in June Distributed 900 Brochures to MCYS personnel/offices July Launch of new Website Communications Subcommittee YJO response to bill C-10 - Work on Key Messages (Consultant) - Briefing notes for meetings in May with DM and Minister Governance Subcommittee - Development of “living” Governance Document (6 policies on Board Orientation, financial governance documents, YJO history) - Comprehensive By Law Review Development of “new” Board Member Orientation Electronic processes initiated Community Programs, Training Subcommittee • Trained 56 staff in Addictions • Trained 53 staff in LBGTTQY – Nov 2011 - In ‘Believing in promoting wellness, maintaining a healthy staff group, and supporting people performing difficult work’, YJO • Trained 46 staff in “Care for the Care Givers” • Trained 46 staff in “Personal Resiliency in Challenging Times” - April 2012 Other Board Activities - Participation on the Secure Site Review Committee Establishment of working rel’p with Staff Training and Development Unit Establish rel’p with System Improvement through Service Collaborative Group - Youth Justice Advisory Committee - Monitor implementation of new Psychotherapy Act - Organized Conference A brief presentation of the revamped YJO Website was 2 Motion to Adjourn by Dick presented.
