2015 NS Provincial Exhibition Dairy Show The goal of this exhibit is to A) provide the general public with the opportunity to learn about the dairy industry B) provide exhibitors the opportunity to have their animals evaluated and to provide marketing and networking opportunities with industry partners. Move In: Sunday, August 23rd, animals must be onsite Monday August 22nd by noon. Exhibitors Meeting: Monday 6pm, Agridome ring Show Day: Wednesday August 26th 9:00am – 2:00pm Agridome Ring Move Out Wednesday August 26th 10:00pm There will be no vehicles allowed on the grounds between 10am and 10pm daily, beginning Tuesday. Deliveries may be made between 6am and 10am with a delivery pass. Vehicles may then be parked in the exhibitor parking lot. The Athol Craswell Memorial Milking System will be provided for exhibitor’s use. The total milk shipped will be divided between exhibitors on a per cow basis and attributed to their quota. Daily milking demonstrations to be scheduled. 1st Bedding will be provided. Entry Fee: $20 per head, payable to the NSPEC. 4-H Members must preregister, but no entry fee required. (Best 8 animals for Premier Breeder & Exhibitor.)The breeder will be considered as the first prefix on the animal. Herdsmanship Award: Based on display appearance & positive public interaction. Peewee Showmanship: Open to any children 8 & under following the junior championship & junior herd classes. No pre-registration necessary. Ribbon only. GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS 1. This is an open show. The maximum stable area available is 100 head. If entries warrant, limits per exhibitor may be required. 2. All exhibits must be registered in the name of the exhibitor, in accordance with the by-laws of Holstein Canada. The certificate must state that the animal is purebred or at least 75% of purebred inheritance. 3. CODE OF ETHICS - Ethics are an individual responsibility, and will follow the Holstein Canada Code of Ethics. 4. Each exhibitor shall hold the show management blameless for any loss or accident. It shall also be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall be responsible for any injury or damage that may be occasioned to any person or thing whomsoever or whatsoever against all claims or demands for loss or damage occasioned thereby. 5. All exhibitors must present a copy of their liability policy to management before entering the show grounds. 6. Animals must be properly ear-tagged to correspond with registration certificate & to meet CFIA requirements. 7. All entry fees must be paid in full before entering the ring. 8. This is a public venue. All exhibitors must keep their stable area tidy and be mindful of public perception. Please keep all beverages in cups. Please have stall cards & signs to identify your farm and animals. This is an opportunity to promote the dairy industry, so please answer any questions from the public. 9. No Smoking in the Agridome. Judges: 1 free day pass per show. Draft Horse: 2 day passes for first team, after that 1 per team, 1 free delivery pass per exhibitor. Judges: 1 free week pass Colchester County 4-H: 1 free pass per leader/4-H member, 10 delivery passes in total. Judges: 20 free days passes All other exhibitors: 1 free day pass per exhibitor Volunteers: AT THE DISCRECTION OF MANAGEMENT, day passes can be purchased at a reduced rate of $4.00. Tickets must be purchased 2 weeks prior to the opening day of the exhibition through the office. Week long passes can be purchased at the cost of $8.00 plus the return of the free day pass. (The free day pass must be upgraded at the time of initial entry to the grounds.) All exhibitors/volunteers/vendors must have the free day pass prior to entry of the grounds. Additional exhibitor/vendor/volunteer day passes may be purchased for $4 (quantity subject to the approval of mgmt.) Delivery Passes: Parking passes will not be issued. No Parking on the grounds.
