Work Experience:
2011-Present: Self Employed. Media buyer for several local accounts.
Spanish/English tutor. Substitute teaching.
1996-2010: Local Sales Manager. I was employed in this position under the
following owners: Starchannel Communications, Suddenlink Media, Cox Media,
and TCA Media. I was responsible for meeting company sales goals, collections,
sales promotions and strategies, hiring, and training sales staff. Also responsible
for public relations and market visits to advertising agencies. Over this time
period under these different companies I exceeded or met my sales goals. We
represented Televisa Broadcasting Company from Mexico along the Texas-Mexico
border. Televisa also had a Fox affiliated station we represented as well. Note:
Televisa is a conglomerate in Mexico and sells its content to Univision in the U.S.A
of which they have a major stake in. In 5 of the 14 years we also represented
Hearland Wireless Cable.
1983-1995: Local Sales Manager for the following radio stations in Laredo, Texas:
KBDR B-100FM, KOYE-95FM/KVOZ-1490AM and KRRG-98FM. Similar
responsibilities as per above.
1981-1982: Teacher @ Laredo Independent School District.
1978-1980: Sales Representative for Flo-Valve & Newman Valves & Fittings.
Responsible for developing territory, sales, presentations and collections.
