Action Plan of the Committee for Members in Industry for the year 2015-2016

CPE Study Circles for Members in Industry
ICAI has notified the norms for CPE Study Circles, which caters exclusively for the members in
Industry. These CPE Study Circles are being contemplated to help Members who are in Industry
to achieve the objectives of maintaining their core competencies and exchange professional
knowledge amongst the members apart from fostering and developing fellowship. Norms of the
CPE Study Circle for Members in Industry are available at http://www.cmii.icai.org/cpe.asp
The Committee for Members in Industry (CMII) has been empowered to approve, guide and
supervise the CPE Study Circles for Members in Industry, which will conduct Continuing
Professional Education Programmes for the Members in industry. The norms provide for the
minimum number of members required and the application procedure, rules for functioning,
administration and accounts of these CPE Study Circles.
111 CPE Study Circles for Members in Industry had already been formed so far.
The Committee intends to form CPE Study Circles as many as possible during Council Year
2015-2016.

HR Meet
The Committee is organizing ICAI-Industry HR Meet to discuss certain critical issues relating to
the organization of Campus Placement Programme throughout the country at various centres.
We solicit the presence of senior officials from renowned esteemed organization preferably
one representative each from the HR Team, Finance Team and the experts who are involved in
the recruitment process on behalf of the organization.
The discussion points in the above said meet are:
1) Seeking suggestion and feedback on Proposed Scheme of Education and Training
2) Requesting for involvement in the Campus Placement Programme- August- September
2015 and helping in identifying Global Opportunities for Members
3) To create a route map for using ICAI Job Portal for placement of Experienced CA’s and
Accounting Technicians
4) Seeking involvement in the ICAI Awards 2015 and the ICAI-CMII Corporate Forum
2015
5) Assistance in facilitating collaboration with leading national and international academic
and professional bodies for skill up gradation and professional growth

Outreach Programme
The Committee for Members in Industry is organising Outreach Programme in the Corporates
having more than 25 Chartered Accountants. ICAI comes to campus of Corporates having more
than 25 Chartered Accountants and does half day or full day programme free for members. The
Outreach programme has been conceived with the idea of bringing the Members in Industry
closer to ICAI and the broad agenda for each outreach programme is as under:
1. To highlight the activities of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. (ICAI) and the
Committee for Members in Industry (CMII).
2. To interact on matters of professional interest.
3. To encourage new members to apply for membership.
4. To solicit views from members in industry about what they expect from ICAI.
5. Participation of Members in Industry in research projects of ICAI.
6. To discuss on the topics relevant to Members in Industry.
Committee intends to organize more and more Outreach Programme at various places.

Nomination Committee Meeting for ICAI Awards 2015 in the month of November,
2015.

Jury Meet in the month of December, 2015.

9th ICAI Corporate Forum includes Corporate Conclave, ICAI Awards and Financial
Services Expo during January, 2016 at New Delhi.
Industry Knowledge Book Series
The CMII intends to release Industry Knowledge Book Series on Industries namely on Power,
Generation & distribution, Fertilizers, Hotels & Hospitality, Constructions, Iron & Steel,
Telecommunications, Financial Services, Steel & Metal Manufacturing, Oil & Gas exploration,
Cement, Shipping, NBFS, Banking, Travel & Tourism, Insurance and so on.
Also committee intends to revise following publications of CMII:
a) Business Planning
b) Sustainability Reporting
c) Handbook for Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants
Industry Specific eGroup
The CMII intends to form Industry Specific eGroups for the Industries like Banking, Cement,
Hotels & Hospitality Education, Training & Research, Financial Services, Insurance,
Petrochemicals, Power, Generation & Distribution, Telecommunications, Travel & Tourism and
so on.
eNewsletter ‘Corporate Communiqué
The Committee intends to release eNewsletter ‘Corporate Communiqué. The eNewsletter is one
such endeavour by the Committee for Members in Industry to share recent developments with
regards to initiatives taken by Committee for Members in Industry.

 Hosting videos on demand on subjects like IFRS, Direct Tax Code and GST.

developing courseware.
