Stillwater Sunrise Rotary Board Meeting Minutes

The September minutes were approved as presented
Finance Report:
No major changes or concerns were noted by the Treasurer and the report was approved as presented.
Grant committee- Margie Horning


Margie reported that the Jamaica Grant that the Chisago Lakes Rotary is sponsoring is moving
along. She is working with the local Jamaican club to process the paperwork and utilize the
online system.
No other grant actions to discuss. There is a District Grants Committee meeting on 12/18/2015
at the Roseville office if anyone is interested in attending.
STRIVE-Brent Voight


Membership Report- Jack Gibbons

We have had some visitors lately to our Tuesday meetings, but no applications have been
received.
Youth Exchange-Brett Emmons

Our exchange student from Japan, Ayane, is moving to the McGinley home this weekend. We
look forward to seeing her at club meetings and possibly the Christmas event.
President’s Report- Shari Clifford


Regular club attendance has been up to about 55 lately.
The Christmas Event is Dec. 15th. About 80 Rotarians and guests have signed up so far and there
is still time for others to sign up. This will be a social gathering that will include a short
program. A small group of musicians will be the evening’s entertainment.
Foundation Report-Bob Gray

This past Tuesday Bob gave the club an update and announced we are below our goal
for the years and encouraged more contributions be made prior to year’s end. Bob will
continue to do quarterly updates before the March cut off for the year.
Literacy Report-Don Schuld

Don, Mary and Ute are working with a program called Urban Boat Builders that will
require a grant in the range of $5,000 or more. Stay tuned.
Old Business-Shari Clifford


The bike repair station project has been completed including the DNR signs. The DNR
sent a letter thanking us for our sponsorship. A big thank you to Rick Heidick for his
leadership on the project.
The Lowell Inn is unable to provide us with 2 microphones due to technical
configurations. We will pass the mic around during the meeting to make sure all
announcements and comments can be heard by all.
New Business

Mel Sullivan has provided the list of her leadership team for her term as president for
2016-2017. The panel will be presented for approval at our club assembly 12/8/2015.
Upcoming Events:

There will be no club meeting on 12/15 and 12/29.
Next Board Meeting: Friday, January 8.2016 at 7:00am at Family Means.
