Competition!
Entries will be accepted from Saturday, February 23rd to the deadline, Saturday
March 9th at 12:00 Noon
The Hudson Valley Homebrewers are pleased to present our 23nd Annual Homebrew Competition.
This is an AHA and BJCP sanctioned event. Over the years we have enjoyed an event that provides
valuable feedback to brewers, great prizes to those who win, and an entertaining day for those who
participate as judges and stewards. The competition is open to all amateur brewers.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1. Beer, Mead, and Cider entries are welcomed. Entry categories are per the 2008 BJCP Style
Guidelines. The complete Guidelines can be found on the Web at www.bjcp.org
2. Each entry must be homebrewed NO commercially brewed beverages allowed.
3. Brewers must submit two (2) 10 to 20 oz. bottles per entry Swing-top bottles are OK, as
are carbonators (we are not responsible for returning carbonators). Caps must be plain with any
markings blacked out.
4. Each bottle must have a completed bottle label fastened by rubber band only. NO TAPE
PLEASE!
5. All registration must take place online by following a link on our website:
http://www.hvhomebrewers.com. Entries will be accepted between Saturday, February 23rd,
and the entry deadline, 12:00 Noon, Saturday March 9th.
6. The entry fee is $7.00 per entry. Please pay via Pay Pal for your entries. If you have a
question about Pay Pal then email Dave Sherfey sherf@flagbrewing.com
7. If you are shipping beer to the shipping location, you must take the proper time and
care when packaging your entries, we do not want any broken bottles.

23 Annual Homebrew Competition
CHILI COOK-OFF
This year’s Hudson Valley Homebrewers Competition will have a chili cook-off competition in
conjunction with the Homebrew competition.
Rules:
 Entries must be brought to the competition location by 3PM on the day of the competition.
 Entries must be in a crock pot (electric cooker) and be at least a two quarts.
 Entrants must provide a serving spoon or ladle.
 Entrants must provide a 3x5 card with your name address phone and name of chili (if
applicable)
 Prize will be awarded for first place. Vote tally will be verified by the competition committee.
The decision of the committee is final.
 Entrants are responsible for removing their crock pots and any leftovers when they leave. Do
not dump excess chili in the trash.
Guest, judges, and stewards who are at the Homebrew competition awards ceremony will be invited to
sample and vote for the chili of their choice. A prize will be awarded for first place based on the
“people’s choice”.
