MAP reminded everyone that we work as a group and that our nationality must not be allowed to effect any decision. MAP confirmed that the meeting allowance was 250 euros per meeting and that MG should forward his bank details to Dominque. Seminar 2014 in Tel Aviv The Cable Council Meeting will be held on Thursday 27th March with the meeting starting at 9am and the seminar will be held on 28th/29th in Tel Aviv. Subjects to be covered in the Seminar will be Trick Writing/Setting up a Video Jump System/Homologation. Also the work of a calculator at a competition such as setting up start lists etc. MT will invite skiers to attend and learn how to write tricks. The shorthand can be explained and so they have an idea how to start with writing the tricks down then some of the symbols that judges use will be shown. How to recognise good/bad tricks will be explained. We will need to demonstrate both high and low level tricks as some of the skiers may recognise them but not be able to write them down quickly enough. If anyone wishes to sit an exam then they will be able to do so on Friday. MM will bring a back-up Jump system with him but we do need to be able to put together the system MT has. There will be a small/”test” competition with 10/12 skiers. We have the water between 7 -10 in the morning to run this competition. During this competition we can demonstrate how the cameras are set up and used. This seminar will be open for everyone and will probably be fairly low level. After the competition held in the morning there will be feedback and discussion as to what happened during the competition . The hotel has 2 meeting rooms available so if the group needs to be split it will be possible. MT will try and find out exactly who will be attending and that way we can work out exactly what sessions will be needed at the seminar. 3. World Council MAP confirmed that Sherm Shraft had resigned from the World Council and therefore we need to find someone new from that region/confederation. MT will contact the owner of OWC however they tend to have host Cable Wakeboard competitions but not many 3 event competitions. We also need to ask Colin Ellison to set up a Council in his region/confederation. We will contact Stuart Marston (World Cable 3 event Skiers’ Representative) to see if he has any suggestions to who may be interested in getting involved. JP will forward all his “World” files to MAP 4. Allocation of Work President/Secretary/Treasurer already agreed. JDL – Homologation MT – Website and Technical Officer AI – Skiers Representative MM/EK - Technical Rules MM – Technical equipment EK - Officials MG – Rules (he will take over from JP) MAP & MG – support for the new federation licence program Vladimir Ryanzin had offered to stand as Skiers’ Representative however it was confirmed that the “election” is carried out at the Cable 3 event E&A Open competition and the skiers representative is voted in by the skiers and not the E&A Cable Council nor E&A Congress delegates. Minutes of the 81st meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council page 2/4 5. Officials MAP will send out by the end of February a form to all the Cable officials so that they can complete which competitions they wish to apply to officiate at. 6. Calculation/Standings List EK will be the liaison with Manu for changes in calculation programme and it was agreed that there should only be one person for contact with Manu and therefore MAP will contact Heidi to find out how Manu ‘s assistance in setting up “Who beats who” Rankings List is progressing so that EK can follow it up. Qualification rules – should it be worked out as a percentage of total skiers on rankings list or number of skiers based on position within list? The Rankings List is based on the top 2 scores. Concern expressed that some skiers only attend “Titled events” Should we try and limit entrants from one country? The qualification scores to be discussed again at the council meeting in Tel Aviv A query has been raised by Alexander Vasko, Chairman of Slovak Waterski Federation regarding the position of Kamil Borysewicz’s position on the Jump Standing list. He is currently shown to be first in Junior ranking list but it is believed that Kamil did not perform this jump until correct conditions for Juniors as it was achieved at the E&A Open Championships in Poland. After a long discussion whether skiers can be positioned in the rankings list of their age, although the performance was not necessarily achieved under the right conditions for their age category. There were concerns expressed that if the scores had to be executed under strict conditions then probably the only results that could be verified to have been achieved under the current conditions would be at the E&A “Age Categories” competition and this would result in the Junior/Senior rankings list being very short. Therefore we need to make it clear that the Age Categories list is based on the age of the competitor and not the “age” conditions that the score was achieved. In this context the Senior women Ranking List needs to be updated 7. Worlds 2014 By the middle of February we should have confirmation that the Worlds is going ahead. We are aware that the organisers are looking for sponsors, The obligations will need to signed by the German Federation with approval of the Dutch Federation. There has been suggestions for possible candidates to be Chief Judge at the Worlds but MAP will wait until confirmation that competition is going ahead before contacting them. 8. Competitions 2014 5 – 7 September – Veendam – World Championship – still to be confirmed 18 – 20 September – SchlossDankern – E&A Age Categories 18 -20 July – Kosice – Grand Prix 25 -27 July – Havirov – Grand Prix 1 – 3rd August – Asten – Grand Prix 22 – 24 August – Augustow – Grand Prix 24 – 25 October – Tel Aviv – Nationals/Open 9. Competitions 2015 It now appears there is a clash of dates between E&A 3 event Open to be held at Alfsee Rieste on 11 – 13th September 2015 and the Tournament Worlds to be held in Milan. This would cause problems as there will be skiers/officials that will wish to attend both competitions. MAP will contact Marcus Hoernschemeyer regarding this. Minutes of the 81st meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council page 3/4 10. New Sites MT will be in contact with Uwe Goldstein regarding Laguna (site name), a new site in Egypt. The local Federation of Egypt needs to be involved if we are going to have a competition there. New cable site in Miami is also being build, this will be a similar set up as the OWC in Orlando and thus owned by Correct Craft. 11. Budget Last season we spent 4803 euros in total of which 3010 euros was on officials travel, 455 euros on seminar and 1338 on the new website. As this season is a “Worlds” year therefore there will only be one competition that we will need to pay for officials travel. Discussion whether we should we put up our entry fees? Agreed that we would leave the entry fees the same for this season so 160 euros for Open/Seniors and 120 euros for Juniors. Last season there was 235 euros generated by E&A Cable Council in relation to Homologation/Late Entry fees. We still need to work on getting income from advertisement on our website. 12. Website At the moment it appears that the Grand Prix competitions are not on E&A webpage and MT will contact Brit to sort this out. Cableski.org is still the registered to JP as the owner. JP will send invoice through to NCC for settlement. Cableskiworlds.com is to be kept and MT is to organise that this domain name is transferred to him. However we will check the cost of this domain and then will come to a final decision whether to keep it in Tel Aviv. 13. Additional Rules for all size Cables This will be discussed at length again at our next meeting in Tel Aviv. Michal Mos has changed his email address and will send it to everyone. MAP thanked everyone for coming to Milan and confirmed that the next meeting would be on Thursday 27th March in Tel Aviv. Minutes of the 81st meeting of the Confederation E&A Cableski Council page 4/4
