TRADE SPACE
All applications and fees/payments must be received by the Trade Space Steward by Monday 17th of November 2014.
Applicants will be able to obtain their receipt and wristband at the showground office, during office hours, during the week
leading up to show commencement if not received via post.
Refund Policy - Applicants wishing to withdraw within two weeks prior to show date will not be refunded. Similarly, accepted
applicants who then fail to attend will forfeit a refund.
Trade Space at the Dorrigo Show consists mostly of outdoor-grassed area on either side of the main thoroughfare through the
showground. Almost all of this space is unsheltered. The very limited sheltered space that does exist is for use by invitation
only. Unless advised otherwise, applicants should assume that they would need to provide their own shelter.
Trade space is sold to traders on the basis of square-metres of space. When calculating the amount of space you need, you will
need to include all space that you require – including your car, if you need it beside your marquee. Non-trade space is free and
is offered to not-for-profit community groups only. Non-traders should note however, that Traders are given higher priority when
allocating space.
Traders and non-traders must ensure that Trade exhibits are of an appropriate standard and do not constitute any danger,
annoyance or offence to the attending public or to the Show committee.
Traders and non-traders are not permitted to take up alternative sites to those, which are allocated to them, unless specifically
permitted by the Secretary or the Trade Space Steward. Nor are traders permitted to sub-let any site to other persons,
organizations or traders.
Traders must be set-up and staffing their exhibit from 9AM to 7PM on the Saturday staff from 9AM to 3PM on the Sunday.
Direct vehicular access will not be permitted during these times.
Two wristbands are available per trade stand free of charge. Additional wristbands will be charged at $10, maximum 2. Traders,
who are also current members of the Dorrigo Show Society, are entitled to a free wristband. Non-traders (community groups)
are entitled to 2 free weekendwristbands. The entry-pass wristbands are to be worn AT ALL TIMES during the show. Traders
and non-traders may camp by their vehicle if required, however a camping permit (cost $20) must be displayed so as to be
easily visible through the windscreen
All Traders and Non-traders must have appropriate and current comprehensive insurance ($20M) and proof of this insurance
must be submitted with this application, UNLESS the applicant wishes to purchase insurance through the Dorrigo Show Society
at a cost of $20.
All Traders and Non-traders must have all electrical equipment (extension leads, appliances, etc) professionally tested and
tagged by a qualified electrical tagger as to comply with the Workplace Health and Safety Act of 1989.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT & POWER LEADS
Any exhibitors intending to bring electrical equipmentto the Showground are required to ensure that such equipment is fitted
with earth leakage circuit breakers, and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected and tagged by a
qualified electrical tagger. This is essential for the safety of yourself, your fellow exhibitors and the general public, and is a
requirement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of 1983. The Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of noncompliance with its provisions. Any exhibitors who do not comply will not be allowed to exhibit at the showground.
Please check all your electrical equipment & leads before you come to the Showground.
Electric fencing is not allowed on the Showground.
SHOWGROUND CHARGES

Section 27: Garden Art
The Dorrigo Show Society is organising a new section for this year’s show held on the 22nd
and 23rd of November 2014. This new “Garden Art” section will comprise of three different
categories based on materials used.
1. Metal
2. Wood
3. Mixed media (combination of materials)
There is no theme, nor limit on imagination. The only guidelines are that it needs to be
considered as a garden sculpture and not exceed 2m in height. The rest is up to you. For
inspiration you may think of something Dorrigo’esque, a functional ornament or even a
modern and unique piece of art.
One other important consideration is, as these sculptures will be displayed on an uneven
grassy surface, the stability of your work is paramount for safety reasons.
Prizes will be awarded to the best three submissions in each of the categories. The winner of
each category will also have the option to display their winning entry in the newly developed
‘sensory garden’ at the front of Hickory House after the show.
