KINTORE PRIMARY SCHOOL BULLETIN NO 2 Dear Parents/Guardians Open Afternoon – Thursday, 3 September 2015 – 1.45pm – 2.45pm All parents are welcome to visit their child’s/children’s class on Thursday, 3 September 2015. This will give you an opportunity to meet the teacher as well as hear the class plans for the new session. Staffing With some moving around we have managed to start the session with a teacher in front of every class but we have had to make some concessions in order to do so. We would like to welcome the following teaching staff: Ms Seonaid Macdonald (P3S) Miss Georgina Ritchie (P4P) Miss Karen Harris (P5B) Mrs Jessica Parson (P7P) Miss Lyndsey Scott (P7S) We also welcome our three new probationer teachers: Miss Niamh Ellison (P4S) Mr Tom Webster (P6B) Miss Jessica Stewart (P2B) The following teachers have joined our SFL/Link team: Miss Claire Thompson Mrs Moira Speake Mrs Jackie McLelland To teach PE, we welcome Miss Angela Waite and we also have two new PSAs supporting the children: Mrs Kelly Scott and Mrs Pamela Black. Finally, the Nursery staffing has been enhanced by the presence of two new nursery nurses, Mrs Julie Bain and Mrs Kelly Bonnar. Mrs Michie continues her responsibility for Nursery and P1; Mrs Stephen for P2 and P3; Mrs Williams for P4 and P5 and Mrs Walker for P6 and P7. However, do remember that any of the Leadership Team will provide help at any time. Miss Macpherson continues to make good progress and hopes to begin a phase return to work from mid-September. We continue to have a number of vacancies particularly in Pupil Support and teacher non-contact and will have two maternity leaves in the near future: Mrs Booth and Mrs Cordiner. Playground This is the first week of the P1 pupils’ full time attendance. The children are, in the main, now settled into the routine of arrival and dismissal. It is now time for parents to stay outwith the playground until asked to enter by the Class Teachers. School Office Please also note that with immediate effect the School Office will now be open 8.30 am – 3.30 pm Monday-Friday. To reduce interruptions we have set up a new procedure for forgotten gym kits, packed lunches etc. The office staff will contact the class concerned and either the teacher or the pupil will collect the items at break time. By doing this we would hope to lessen disruption to both the class and the office Bikeability – P6 We need a considerable number of parents to support this activity – not just parents from the current P6 class.
