Dear Parents,
Our exciting residential visit to London will take place on 12th –13th March 2015
(Thursday to Friday). It is hoped that all Year 8 pupils will take part in what we know
will be an excellent learning adventure and a chance to celebrate the end of their time
at Walton Priory. Last year the London trip was a huge success and we hope to better it
this year!
The Trip will include:

London Dungeons or Sea - life Aquarium (choice)
•
Guided Thames River Tour
•
Discovery Flight on the London Eye
•
MATILDA at the Cambridge Theatre
•
Natural History Museum
•
The National Science Museum (inclusive of a visit to the IMAX Cinema)
We will stay overnight at the London Thameside YHA , a large, well equipped youth
hostel near the Tower of London. I hope that you agree that the planned itinerary is
packed with great experiences. The total cost of the trip is £155 this includes all
travel, accommodation, entrance fees and food (apart from a packed lunch on the
Thursday). Pupils will be able to take spending money which we will limit to £20 max. If
insufficient parents pay for this trip, then this may result in the trip not being able to
go ahead.
In order to supervise the children appropriately to ensure their safety we have
decided that coach travel is the best way to transport the pupils for the entire trip.
The pupils will be accompanied by staff from school and parent / governor volunteers
to ensure a high ratio of adults to children. If you as a parent would be interested in
attending this trip then please indicate on the reply slip. We do ask that those who
volunteer offer a contribution (Please contact for details). We will be in touch with you
if there are spaces and will complete your DBS Application if you volunteer.
We ask that you return the reply slip below to indicate that you wish your child to
attend the London Trip.
Subsequent payments will be split into two and we will send out a text message to
remind you of the relevant dates. These are as follows:
November 3rd £100
March 2nd £55
All cheques made payable to Staffordshire County Council (with pupils name and
London written on the reverse)

We are very excited to be able to offer this trip for the third time to a group who
have proved to be reliable ambassadors for Walton Priory during their time at our
school.
