Dolnośląskie Voivodeship at EXPO 2015
The Dolnośląskie Voivodeship Week starts today at the World Exposition
EXPO 2015 in Milan. Over the next days, the region will present its assets,
including Bolesławiec pottery, crystal class collections, silk painting, a
mobile bakery and modern design in the lighting show. On Thursday, 2
July, the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship will present its investment offer at the
Economy Day.
The Voivodeship will present itself in Milan using an artistic convention of
four elements which are the source of most precious treasures of the region.
The presented flagship regional products will include the most beautiful sets of
Bolesławiec pottery, handmade jewellery made from agates from the
region and unique crystal glass products manufactured in the traditional way
for over 140 years in the Julia Crystal Glass Factory.
All visitors to the Polish Pavilion will have the opportunity not only to see
and touch the products from the region, but also to actively participate
in their creation. For creative souls who want to show their talent, we
recommend artistic workshops with renowned artists from the region. A master
in silk painting Kamila Karst and a specialist in agate jewellery Małgorzata
Gromiec will share the arcana of their craft with the visitors.
The Dolnośląskie Voivodeship will also present its culinary offer. Polish cuisine
will be presented to the visitors by the chef of one of the most renowned
restaurants in the region Zbigniew Koźlik. He will present special culinary
compositions based on organic regional products. A mobile bakery will be put
up in front of the pavilion. It will bake bread according to traditional recipes,
used for centuries in the region.
All presentations will be accompanied by excellent music of a popular Polish
bank Me, Myself and I. The music, which often lacks lyrics,
and sometimes also instruments, will ensure a pleasant and relaxed
atmosphere for the visitors’ encounter with the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship.
The presentation of the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, which is one of 10 fastest
developing European regions, involves also an economic element. On
Thursday, 2 July, a number of meetings on economic cooperation of the region
with foreign partners will be held. The economic potential of the voivodeship,
activities in special economic zones and projects combining technological
innovations with business will be presented by Marshal Cezary Przybylski and

a member of the Voivodeship Board Jerzy Michalak, as well as by the
representatives of Italian companies successfully operating in the region.

A special show of unique lighting by Agnieszka Włostowska,
which is an original combination of innovative technological solutions and an
intriguing artistic effect, will provide an interesting introduction to economic
presentations.
The Dolnośląskie Voivodeship Week in Milan will last from 30 June to 5 July.

EXPO 2015
Ever since the first edition in 1851, the EXPO exhibitions have been the most prestigious world promotional
events.
EXPO 2015 is held under the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.
As of 1 May to 31 October, in Milan, almost 150 countries and organisations will present their achievements
in the agri-food industry. The EXPO 2015 organisers emphasise the educational role of the event, in the
area of both promoting healthy food and of searching for solutions to the problem of food scarcity in certain
world
regions.
The EXPO 2015 will be attended almost by 150 countries, and the Organisers expect up to
20 million visitors.
The participation of Poland in the World Exposition EXPO 2015 is organised by the Polish Agency for
Enterprise Development. The Agency acts both in programming and organisation areas under supervision
of the Ministry of the Economy and with the support of Commissioner General of the Polish Section of World
Exposition EXPO 2015 in Milan.
