Sonia Gomes, Ph.D., from Brazil, is well-known to the
worldwide Somatic Experience community & alumni for her
mastery of SE and body therapies, as well as the wonders she
works in demos and personal sessions. She is among the few
qualified to teach Advanced SE. She adopts a multidimensional
integrative approach to her teaching, therapy and clinical practice.
She is committed to the practice of somatic experiencing both in
the relief of suffering resulting from trauma, and as a means to
enhance personal development.
SOMATIC EXPERIENCING (SE™) is a potent psychobiological method for resolving
trauma symptoms and relieving chronic stress. It is the life's work of Dr. Peter A. Levine,
resulting from his multidisciplinary study of stress physiology, psychology, ethology, biology,
neuroscience, indigenous healing practices, and medical biophysics, together with over 45
years of successful clinical application. The SE approach releases traumatic shock, which is
key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental attachment
trauma….

In this three-day demonstration master class, Sonia Gomes, PhD, will demonstrate, with as many as three
to four live sessions a day with the participants, including some explanation of the processes.
Demo subjects will not only have the unique opportunities for personal growth, but also learn the amazing
power and depth of SE (Somatic Experiencing) through personal experience. Others will have eyeopening, lively and vivid exposures to appreciating SE. Traditional talk therapies have no way of reaching
the levels of integration that SE can facilitate. This workshop will be most valuable for beginners and
those who are familiar with SE. But don't expect to use SE right away just after such an exposure! For
that, come for SEP-HK4 in March, 2016.
