Snap Shot of this Week This week in language arts we wrote our animal research paper. I want to thank everyone for their help during this process. We learned how to write a paper using indents in the beginning of each paragraph. We also discussed the importance of peer editing. Our projects are almost finished, they look great! This week in math we continued learning about fractions. Students worked to understand what a fraction is and how to identify fractions (numerators/denominators). Next week we will work on comparing, ordering fractions on a number line and understanding equivalent fractions again. This is a brand new concept for many students as it was not a part of the second grade curriculum. The students have been working hard to understand this unit. “My favorite part of the week was writing my rough draft for our animal projects!” - Anna Next Week: Language arts- Animal Project craft/ Writing letters/Dr. Seuss author study and comparing his books Math- Fractions Science- Rocks and minerals Social Studies-N/A Your child should practice math facts and read over the weekend.
