Dear Parents,
The Glass Knight
As you are aware, the children in Year 6 have been invited to take part in the exciting new Youth
Opera – The Glass Knight. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to develop their drama,
singing and performance skills. Later this term, the children will be participating in drama and singing
workshops in school with Phillip Sunderland (the composer) and members of the drama team from
Saffron Walden County High School.
Last week, I sent out details about the performance dates and how to purchase tickets in the priority
booking period. The children are in cast A so their performances will be on Wednesday 9th March
and Friday 11th March – both 7pm performances at the Saffron Hall.
To enable further preparations to take place, I need to confirm numbers and names for the
programme and give details to the costume department so they can begin to source costumes for
the children. Therefore, could you please complete the reply slip at the bottom of the letter to state
whether or not your child will be able to participate in the performances. If they are able to attend,
and we very much hope that all children will be able to – just as we would expect for a school
production, please could you also complete the costume measurement form and return to me by
Wednesday 20th January. Please rest assured that all measurement forms will be treated with
confidence.
