Permanent Contract Applications Test Technician (Vehicle Communication Software) REPORTING TO: Lead Engineer REGION: UK/IRELAND This position will be involved in development of information for Vehicle diagnostic equipment. The candidate will need to have a good understanding and Experience with Vehicle Diagnostic Equipment including ability to read and understand diagnostic data and be up to date with the latest functionality of vehicle diagnostic equipment. The candidate will also need to have good PC skills. Specific tasks include but are not limited to: Understands vehicle technology, including demonstrated good knowledge of electronic control units. On Vehicle testing and live data analysis. Comfortable working around vehicle electronic and electrical systems. Capable of removing and replacing automotive components, returning the vehicle to equal or better than before condition. Ability to establish and actively manage a network of vehicle test sites. Ability to understand Automotive Technicians diagnostics needs. Accepts responsibility for multiple projects, time sharing between multiple projects, and reporting weekly activity status. Consults with Applications and software engineers to develop new features for our vehicle diagnostic products. Assists with development of testing procedures. Assists in the development and analysis of documentation, including problem reports and update or creation of Operator’s manuals. Detailed reporting of issues found during test in bug tracking software. Compiling a detailed weekly matrix on test results and issues found. This role plays a critical part in the development of our diagnostic software. The individual will be an experienced automotive technician with strong communication skills with good dealership and independent workshops contacts in the motor industry. The individual will be involved throughout the development process in sourcing vehicle communication recordings from targeted vehicles and the validation of our diagnostic software. A good attention to detail is important to ensure all issues found during testing are logged in our bug tracking software. This is a very exciting and rewarding position for a technician that has an interest in diagnostics, fault finding and troubleshooting. Qualifications required: Excellent PC Skills including very good knowledge of Excel and Word. 3 + years automotive experience with knowledge of vehicle electronic and electrical systems Experience with Vehicle Diagnostic Equipment including ability to read and understand diagnostic data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong time management and organization skills with the ability to plan and organize their working week.
