SUPPORTING GENERAL OPERATIVE – JOB PROFILE

Nature of Role:
This role requires a diligent, responsible employee with a positive attitude, who follows directions, is
dedicated to timely completion of their work, and is flexible to work a variety of jobs as needed.
Work tasks are routine in nature. You must be able to perform the duties of a rigorous work
schedule, which includes lifting, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending and carrying objects.
Primary Objective:
To constantly maintain high standards of workmanship to meet and exceed production quantity and
quality requirements, whilst maintaining high standards of internal and external communications and
relationships.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
 Provides appropriate support to Line Managers
 Vehicle damage inspections
 Vehicle parking including vehicle bay locating
 Dewaxing and/or vehicle washing
 Radio/stereo fitting
 Vehicle allocations
 Valeting and/or vehicle special services preparation (wax polishing)
 Load land building
 Van conversions
 P.D.I inspections
 Preparation of fleet hire units
 Proper use of scanning equipment
 Compound maintenance (removal of papers, plastic, weeds, etc)
 Perform other related duties as assigned
Ability to:
 Competently drive and park motor vehicles
 Understand, follow and apply oral and written instructions
 Use specialised scanning equipment
 Establish and maintain accurate records
 Work cooperatively and effectively with others
 Perform heavy manual labour within established Health & Safety practices
 Must demonstrate competence in safety whilst performing all work tasks
Knowledge of:
 Record-keeping techniques
 Some mechanical aptitude
Requirement:
 Full clean B licence
