Activity: Students will write a short essay/comic strip that illustrates what a society might be like without on shared components of culture. Students will present their stories to class.
Objective: Categorize factors that account for variations among and within cultures.
Warm Up: What factors accounts for culture?
Activity: Students will read case study and complete questions from Think About It

Objective: Identify factors that account for variations among and within cultures.
Activity: Students will get in small groups to conduct research on how five cultures differ in their practices of a major rite of passage.
