The Bread and Butter Theatre Company is celebrating thirteen years in street theatre and entertainment. We started as a one–man, one pair of underpants outfit and have over the years grown into the innovative and professional company that you will find in this website. We have had the pleasure of performing in such diverse venues as the Los Angeles Comedy Cabaret Club, the village halls of Shetland and the Millennium Dome. Events we have been involved in range from the sublime (Commonwealth Games) to the ridiculous (the world’s largest pantomime horse race!). No matter how big or small the event, we always have a fresh and friendly approach to our work and in 2005 we were awarded the rather cool title of “Britain’s Hardest Working Small Business” for which we won a lovely new van (red, leatherette seats – nice.) This means that we can spoil our customers with an even wider variety of characters at your event. Designed to entertain anyone, anywhere, at any kind of event, we are proud to present Opera Anywhere! With a firm commitment to bringing opera to all, Opera Anywhere are delighted to perform at conferences, festivals, National Trust properties, schools, shopping centres, restaurants, on the High Street or in your sitting room, hall, garden, marquee or on an ice rink, boat or a punt, on an exhibition stand, bus or a train, on a stage or just right in front of you - ANYWHERE! Come see us on our stand at the BAFA conference and discuss our plans for 2012 which includes a staged ‘Mikado’ tour. The People Speak is a London-based creative network that designs formats, technologies and methods to engage people in conversation, innovation, play and decision-making in an openended and fun way. Fusing participatory performance, familiar tele/visual media formats and network technologies our work augments spaces into ‘public squares’ to bring communities together in which they can work collaboratively in safe and open environment. The Talkaoke has been designed to be a fun and spontaneous chat show. With everyone sat around the flying saucer of chat, it’s the ideal format for engaging people in an interactive participant-led discussion and ideageneration. Talkaoke is an original and entertaining way to invite people to bring their own agenda to the table. Allowing people to decide what’s relevant to them makes for spontaneous and inclusive entertainment, evaluation, facilitation and learning. A very important aspect of the Talkaoke Method is that topics of discussion are audience led. The host facilitates rather than controls the conversation, and helps to create an environment where participants feel comfortable and confident enough to join in the discussion.
