MY FAIR LADY CAST BIO
ELIZA DOOLITTLE
DEBORAH MYERS
The young British actress and opera singer Deborah Myers studied singing and piano at
the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and at the Guildhall School of Music
in London.
She made her stage debut in the Covent Garden Festival production of THE KING & I.
In 1995 she made her operatic debut as Nanetta in Graham Vick's highly acclaimed
production of Verdi's FALSTAFF with the City of Birmingham Touring Opera.
She made her London theatre debut in a one-woman show LIKE LOVE and went on to
star in SOMETHING WONDERFUL based on the works of Richard Rodgers & Oscar
Hammerstein at the Savoy Theatre. She appeared in the leading role of Yum-Yum in a
new production of Gilbert & Sullivan's THE MIKADO for Grange Park Opera. She also
sang the leading role of 'Christine' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE
OPERA at the Palais Garnier in Paris.
She has appeared in concert throughout the UK and Europe with the major symphony
orchestras: London Philharmonic Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra,
Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, Jersualem
Symphony Orchestra and is a popular artist at the Royal Albert Hall where she regularly
sings in London.
In May 2001 she was invited to appear in a special gala concert singing with the worldfamous tenor JOSE CARRERAS in Athens.
In December 2002 she made her debut in France performing with the Orchestra National
de Lille for a series of concerts in Lille and Paris and sang with the Flemish Radio
Orchestra for concerts in Belgium and Holland.
In 2003 she was invited to appear alongside the famous Greek singer George Dalaras in
a concert tour in London, Copenhagen, Paris and Cyprus in 2003. She also made her
Royal Festival Hall debut as leading soprano soloist in an Anniversary concert with the
London Philharmonic Orchestra celebrating the music and lyrics of Richard Rodgers and
Oscar Hammerstein II.
Her most recent work was starring as Eliza Doolittle in MY FAIR LADY in the summer of
2006. Deborah has recently recorded her first solo CD which has just been released by
EMI.
She now reprises her role as Eliza Doolittle in the Asian tour of My Fair Lady.
