BIOGRAPHY UNITED STATES AIR FORCE MAJOR DANIEL E. SCHOENI Maj Dan Schoeni is a program and fraud counsel at the 66th Air Base Group, Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts. As part of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, the base’s mission is to acquire command and control, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems for the Air Force. The men and women of Hanscom manage more than $5.6 billion in programs annually in support of the Air Force as well as joint and coalition forces. The group provides services to more than 3,000 active duty, Reserve, and National Guard military personnel and DoD civilians who work and live at Hanscom Air Force Base. Additionally, they support more than 125,000 retired military personnel, annuitants, and spouses living in the six-state New England area and New York. Maj Schoeni received a direct commission in August 2004. He is licensed before the Iowa Supreme Court, the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, the Court of Federal Claims, and the United States Supreme Court. In college Maj Schoeni studied philosophy and economics. He also served a two-year church mission to Mexico and studied abroad in Israel during his undergraduate years. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Jerry L. Larson of the Iowa Supreme Court. Maj Schoeni hails from rural Iowa, where his parents still reside, and has two brothers: Paul is an artist at DreamWorks SKG and Chief Petty Officer Steven Schoeni is a Navy SEAL. He is married to the former Alicia Pereira of Poitiers, France. He is proficient in Spanish and French.
