We are here to serve seniors fifty-five and older as well as disabled adults. Phelps Senior Center was dedicated in June of 1982 in order to provide a central location for senior programs, organizations and clubs. We travel within the city limits of Laurel. Please keep in mind that you must call ahead to ride. You cannot hop on the van or bus if you see it near you. Contact us for a brochure at 301498-3384. Pre-registration is required for this service. Crochet Club Join this small group for lessons and fun on Mondays at 12:00 p.m. in room 2. We create and share techniques, patterns and ideas. Blood Pressure Screening Free screening and counseling on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Stop by and get to know your numbers. Also, pick up some literature to help in your healthy lifestyle change. Flu Clinic Phelps Senior Center along with Med Star VNA Healthcare will host a flu vaccine clinic. Flu clinic will be on Wednesday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. Please call or stop by to register at Phelps before September 16 to ensure you will be vaccinated. Barbara Brown’s Line Dancing class is on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. in the Laurel Armory, 422 Montgomery Street next to Laurel Elementary School. This advanced and fast paced dancing class is a fun and exciting way to exercise for a low cost of $35.00 per person for 15 weeks. Tole Painting This class free class begins in October. They meet on Thursdays at the Robert J. DiPietro Community Center at 12:00 p.m. This is a great way to express you through colors.
