VACANCY:SENIOR LABORATORY ANALYST (HPLC ANALYSES)
Responsibilities:







Perform analytical tests (HPLC)
Verify raw data
Perform method checks for each analytical procedure
Know and adhere to the quality system
Train new personnel on specific analytical techniques or procedures
Guide/help other personnel in the laboratory
Other tasks
Minimum requirements:

Applicable degree or diploma in analytical chemistry with two years relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical
analytical Laboratory OR Matric (Mathematics and Physical science at least 40%) with four years relevant experience
in a Pharmaceutical analytical laboratory
Other competency requirements









Proven knowledge and experience w.r.t. HPLC analyses
Proven knowledge of in-house quality systems
Proven knowledge on “good laboratory practices” (GLP)
The ability to understand and execute analytical and related tasks
Adhere to in-house quality system by following SOP’s (standard operating procedures)
Recognising deviations and analytical errors
The ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations
Ability to do specialised pharmaceutical calculations in order to prepare solutions with set molarity or normality;
percentage calculations; basic statistics (average,SD and %RSD); and equivalence calculations, etc.
Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual environments of the
NWU
