VACANCY: SENIOR LABARATORY ANALYST (HPLC ANALYSES)
Responsibilities:

Perform HPLC analyses

Verify raw data

Perform method checks for each analytical procedure

Know and adhere to the quality system

Train new personnel on specific analytical techniques or procedures

Guide/help other personnel in the laboratory

Other tasks
Minimum requirements:

Applicable degree or diploma in analytical chemistry with two years relevant experience in a
Pharmaceutical analytical Laboratory OR Matric (Mathematics and Physical science at least 40%) with
four years relevant experience in a Pharmaceutical analytical laboratory
Other competency requirements

Proven knowledge and experience of HPLC analyses

Proven knowledge of in-house quality systems

Proven knowledge on “good laboratory practices” (GLP)

The ability to understand and execute analytical and related tasks

Adhere to in-house quality system by following SOP’s (standard operating procedures)

Recognising deviations and analytical errors

The ability to perform pharmaceutical calculations

Ability to do specialised pharmaceutical calculations in order to prepare solutions with set molarity or
normality; percentage calculations; basic statistics (average,SD and %RSD); and equivalence
calculations, etc.

Demonstration of language proficiency in order to function optimally in the various multilingual
environments of the NWU
