St. Paul’s is blessed this week-end to join with
Peter & Elvina (Breseman) Petersen as they observe
their 70th Anniversary. Pete & Elvina were married
May 12, 1945 at Grace Lutheran Church, River Forest, IL.

Pete was in the army during 1945-1946 serving in the Philippines
Islands reaching the rank of M/SGT.

They then rented a farm near Pete’s family at Wilton, Iowa. The Lord
blessed them with six children while living on that farm.

Their children and spouses are Judy & John Bryant Cedar Rapids, Dennis
and Brenda Petersen, Ames, Iowa, Ted & Twig Petersen, South Naknek,
Alaska, Diane Thomas- Richmond, VA, Mary & Mike Merulla, Iowa City,
Iowa and Lynne & Kevin Doehrmann of Williamsburg. (In later years
they were blessed with 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.)

In 1965 they moved to Williamsburg and became members of St. Paul’s,
making them 50 year members.

boards, and were members of many social groups through the years.

Elvina was secretary at LIS while their children attended school there.
Pete was employed with National Traveler’s Insurance Co. out of Des
Moines.
God has been good to them and they have been good to us at St. Paul’s.
