Textbook 教科書: Living Mandarin K1 and supplementary handouts such as on-line digital book.
Materials/Resources 教學材料:
Every student needs to have the following items.
1. Art box.(include such as crayons or color pencil, scissor, glue stick and
pencil)
2. Three Ring binder.(keep all the handouts)
3. Ruled index cards. (Each student would make his/her own flash cards)
**Each student will turn in $5.00 for the materials fees.
Course Description 課程內容:
1. For Kindergarten
 Review what we have learned from Pre-kindergarten: including greetings, introductions
of themselves and family members, recognizing body organs, counting number from 150.
 Introduce Pinyin system. The pronunciation of Mandarin and the pictographic characters
will be introduced as well.
2. For Pre-Kindergarten
 Use games/puzzle, rhyme, sing-alone activities, arts, crafts, and matching game to make
learning the Chinese language a fun and interesting experience.
 Introduce the pronunciation with four tones of Chinese.
3. The teaching of Chinese language and culture will be incorporated with manipulative, visual
aids, internet applications and audio aides.
Communicative Mode and Skills Targeted 溝通模式: Interpersonal and presentational modes
which will view by the listening, speaking and writing skills.
Course Objectives: 教學目標
 For Kindergarten
1. Students will be able to show awareness of some Chinese culture and customs.
2. Students will be able to recognize the Chinese traditional character including number 1-10,
people (人 Rén), Big (大 Dà), Small (小 Xiǎo), Mouth (口 Kǒu), Sun (日 Rì), Moon (月
Yuè), and Mountain (山 Shān).

3. Students will be able to practice simple Chinese conversations/dialogue including greetings,
self-introductions and family members.


For Pre-Kindergarten
The students will be able to greet people, introduce themselves.
The students will be able to identify body parts, some colors, shapes, and fruit and so on.
The students will be able to recognize and count number (1-50).
