Prom Contract – 2014
Attention Parents and Students: For the safety and comfort of all attendees, EPHS has established the following
Prom Contract. Please read the following information carefully.
 This agreement must be signed by both the student and the parent in order to purchase prom tickets (on
sale during lunch March 19 – April 9).
 If you are purchasing a ticket for another person (i.e. your date) and that person attends EPHS, you must
also have their signed form to buy their ticket.
 If your date is not an EPHS student, you have to have a signed guest pass (available from the activities
office) in order to purchase a ticket for your guest.
 If your date is not an EPHS student, you have the responsibility of informing them about the prom contract
and guidelines.
Event Details
 Saturday, April 12, 2013
 7:00-10:00 (no entry after 8:30)
 Eagle Point Golf Course Pavilion
 Cost - $30/single and $60/couple
Dress Code
Young ladies must adhere to the following requirements when considering dresses:
 Formal attire – strapless and spaghetti straps are allowed
 No low-cut or plunging necklines (no more than one inch of cleavage showing)
 Dress length or slits should not reveal the leg more than 4 inches above the knee
 Backless to waist is permitted – below waist is not permitted (opposite your belly button)
 No cut-outs around the hip area and/or bust line – sheer fabric is not acceptable
 No dresses (one or two piece) should expose the midriff or abdominal area
 The entire stomach area, torso and sides of torso must be covered
 Shoes must be worn at all times – bring flats or sandals for dancing if necessary
Young men must adhere to the following requirements when considering attire:
 Formal attire – dress pants, collared, button up shirt and tie (tuxedos or suits preferred)
 Shirts must remain on and buttoned at all times
 If your shirt is semi-transparent (i.e. white dress shirts), an undershirt should be worn
 Dress pants or slacks – no jeans
 Pants must be pulled up around your waist at all times
 No baseball style hats, bandanas, chains or canes
 Shoes must be worn at all times
Since prom is a formal event, the evening should reflect both class and fun. Please come dressed in appropriate
attire. Administrators and teachers will determine dress code violations. Entry will be refused or you will be
removed from the prom if you choose not to comply. Students that alter their attire, after being admitted, in a way
that violates the above dress code will be removed and parents will be notified.
Please note: students who are unsure if their attire meets the above dress code should see Mrs. Murdoch prior to the event.
Dancing Guidelines
These guidelines apply anywhere on the premises of the event. Students dancing in an indecent, extreme or
sexually suggestive nature (i.e “freaking” or “grinding”) will result in the student being asked to leave the event and
parents being notified. Dancing guidelines include, but are not limited to:
 No straddling legs
 No prolonged public displays of affection
 No front to back touching/grinding
 No kneeling or lying down
 No touching personal private areas
 Hands on waists or shoulders only
 No hiking of dresses
Coat and Purse Check
 Students will be required to check in purses, bags and overcoats at the registration table.
 Students may take a small purse (no larger than 7”x4”x3”) into the ballroom – it is subject to inspection.
 Men’s dress jackets are subject to inspection.
 Students will have limited supervised access to their checked items during the dance.
 Students will be given a ticket once they check in their items. This ticket must be presented to retrieve
items.
Behavior Guidelines and Expectations
All EPHS rules, policies and procedures outlined in the EPHS Student Handbook will be strictly enforced. Any
student under the influence or in possession of any illegal substance, including but not limited to; alcohol, illegal
drugs or tobacco will be dealt with by local police and the student resource officer(s).
 Students attending prom may be subject to evaluation and/or field sobriety tests, which include
breathalyzer tests.
 All students must present their current EPHS Student ID card at the registration table. Guests must present
a current ID (issued from another school or by the state).
 In addition, students must present a valid ticket. Ticket numbers will be checked against the ticket sales
list. Student’s ID must match the name on the list. Trading or selling of tickets is not allowed.
 No student will be admitted entry one and half hour after the start of the dance.
 Students will not be allowed to re-enter if they leave the facility without an administrator or teacher escort.
 Students leaving the dance more than 30 minutes prior to the end of the dance will be required to “checkout” at the registration table.
 There will be no refunds for students that are denied entry to the dance or removed from the dance.
Agreement
By purchasing a prom ticket, my guest (if applicable) and I agree to abide by the guidelines set forth in this
contract. I understand that it is my responsibility to inform my guest (if applicable) of these policies and ensure
that they are followed. I also understand that, by turning in this contract, I am certifying that the parent signature
below is genuine. Additionally, I acknowledge, understand, and will accept the consequences for inappropriate
behavior.
